LeBron, the self proclaimed “King James” dream of getting a championship ring this year is once again, over. James and the Cavaliers was manhandled by the Boston Celtics in their Eastern Semi finals series.
James was drafted by Cavaliers in 2003 and they failed to advance to the playoffs that season. The 2004-2005 season looks promising to the Cavs but once again they fell short and failed to advance to the playoffs. James finally reached the playoffs in 2005-2006 season and advance to the 2nd round until they lost to the Detroit Pistons. Finally in 2006-2007 season, James and the Cavaliers reached its first Finals appearance but were over match and got swept by the Spurs.
In 2007-2009 NBA season, they lost in the 2nd round and last year got beaten by the Magic in Eastern Conference finals in 6 games.
LeBron is gone, from the playoffs and maybe from Cleveland. He might go to New York or Chicago. James’ long-anticipated NBA finals clash with Kobe Bryant is off again, and it’s now distinctly possible it will never happen.
Mike Brown may also released by the Cavaliers especially if Lebron signed up with another team.
What separate James from other NBA legends such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird or Kobe Bryant is his attitude. He lack the killer instinct and probably didn’t understand the reality of being in the playoffs. When he and his Cavs lost to the Celtics in Game 2 at their own home, he criticized his coach Mike Brown for being angry. Then they got torched by Rajon Rondo in Game 5 and a record breaking most points deficit in a playoff game. James doesn’t have the urgency and he didn’t man up to carry his team, again.
Nike can put those puppets back on the shelf for another summer. Basketball historians anticipating the real-life answers to a delicious theoretical debate must keep waiting. And the wait can be forever.

“He lacks the killer instinct and probably didn’t understand the reality of being in the playoffs.”
Agreed! Joe here, Colleen’s husband. In fact, Lebron needs to be a little ‘self-centered’ with the ball. Kobe understands this and when the pressure is on, takes control of the ball and the game. Lebron lacks this killer instinct. I suspect he’s learned his lesson and we might just see a killer Lebron in his next playoffs, wherever they be.

Hi Joe, yes Lebron needs to take control of the game. Having 2 MVP’s isn’t enough and won’t magically turn a crucial game into his favor.
I really think he might get out of Cleveland and maybe go to Chicago or New York.

Honestly, I am a Cavs fan! LeBron is really a high edge player. But like what you have said, its just, he lacks this kind of maturity wherein, he should take control (like Michael and Kobe) of the game and his team’s point when crunch time begins.

Well I hope he learned his lessons or else he might belong to a group of great players without a ring.

LeBron cares too much about his own performance, and if he thinks he’s having a bad night he just gives up. No other superstar would do this – when Dwayne Wade’s team was down 3-0, he continued to give his all and almost single-handedly won the next game. Steve Nash wanted to beeat the Spurs so bad he played with one eye. Kobe has a long list of injuries he is playing through because he needs to win every game. LeBron just doesn’t care enough.

I agree 100 percent.

Now with the Miami Heat, everyone is expecting that King James will help this team to reach the Finals. I hope this time he wont fail.
