I seldom write a post here about my daily ramblings. In fact I can’t name a single post about ramblings out of more than a hundred I did so far for more than 6 months of blogging. Today I thought of do just that. We’ve been contemplating in moving out and get a our own place. So for the past few months, we are checking out vacant lots around in our area but so far all of them are either sold out or not for sale.
Yesterday me and a couple of friends went on a 2 hour trip to check out Metrogate Silang Estates, a 250 hectare subdivision with schools and recreational features (swimming pool, driving range, tennis, badminton and basketball courts, gym, etc) and proposed commercial complex and groceries.
The place is huge, like a small city and the weather is not hot as in Manila because its only 15 minutes away from Tagaytay. We checked out a couple of nice model houses. It has 3 spacious bedrooms each and a beautiful kitchen and a sliding door leading to the backyard.
Price of lots are cheap but its about 2 hours where I work which is 1 hour more from where I am right now. This means I will lose about 2 hours everyday in travel and maybe about 5k more in gas money a month. Still this didn’t stop me from daydreaming of getting a lot there and then build a house from scratch.
I remember checking out Ironmongery last week, browsing and looking for some ideas on type of doors and windows. Though it is in U.K., it gave me some great ideas on what to get when the time comes (building our own house)
My two friends thats with me yesterday were also thinking of getting a lot there but for investment purposes. There’s a good chance that the price of lots there will raise by 20 percent in a year or so.
So there you go, my first post about my random ramblings.

Maybe you could move and switch to a job nearby?
I’m really thinking about getting a “work at home” job. Well I will weigh my options because the place is really nice.
Good to be working from home or better still work for yourself. Anyhow travelling 2 hrs every day isn’t the best thing to do, especially if you’ll be driving yourself.
Yeah…and I don’t wanna lose 4 hours a day just for the commute.
