I’ve been looking for a good replacement for my HTC Touch because I’m planning to get a new phone by summer. I’m actually considering some phones like LG Chocolate, HTC HD2 or Samsung Omnia 2. Then I thought of Nexus One. It’s pretty out of my budget right now (new unlocked @ $600) but come summer time I know price will drop maybe to less than $500 and it will be within reach.
Having a good phone is like having a good mobile broadband provider. You need to weigh things like price, support and value for money. Nexus One has a great design with slim and sexy body not to mention screen big enough for web browsing. I’m pretty sold with Nexus One so I decided to check the reviews.
Most reviews gave Nexus One a thumbs up sign. It scored high in the responsiveness category and its one of the most noticeable aspect of Nexus one compared with other phones. It’s pretty frustrating waiting for 5 seconds for your phone app to run just when you need it fast. Then I also have read about complaints over 3G connections. Forums and blogs are reporting about people having crappy 3G connections but I also noticed that most of the complains were using T-mobile which happens to have the smallest footprint of 3G among carriers in the US.
Sure enough, some Nexus one users outside of US has no issue over their 3G connection. I’ve checked Whirpool forum which is an Australian forum and very few people complain about their 3G and because I’m in the Philippines I’ve browse some blogs too and so far it was mentioned that Nexus One in the Philippines doesn’t have any 3G issues at all. I’m glad that its not a hardware issue albeit a provider with poor 3G reception.
I think I’ll get the Nexus One and this will be my first ever Google phone. Or I will stick with Windows Mobile (now called Windows Phone) and get the HTC HD2.

I think that once you use Android you will never go back to Windows mobile. Google’s way of doing it just feels “right”. You won’t regret getting the Nexus.
I hope you are right, I might replace my HTC Touch with the Nexus.
Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.
I don’t think so that the Google will play with there reputations. Nexus one is one of the best well featured mobile handsets in the markets specially for the multipurpose .Yes price will drop more later on.
And yes when the price dropped then I’ll pounce on it.
I just got my Nexus phone and it is awesome. The battery life sucks and I am looking for ways to preserve it.
