My Bohol Trip part 2

Loboc River

Loboc River

Here’s the continuation of my Bohol Trip. I just found extra time today and thought of making the part 2 of my Bohol Trip. From Tagbilaran airport, it took about half an hour to Panglao Island. We stayed at Lost Horizon Beach Resort and its past 6pm when we arrived and we took an hour rest before heading out to the beach for dinner. The rooms are okay and we paid P2,600 ($56)  a night per room that’s good for two but can accommodate 4 people.

Lost Horizon is in Alona Beach and Alona Beach is very much alive at night. I’ve never seen so much foreigners in one place and the ratio between a foreigner and a Filipino tourist is about 9 to 1. There are bands, people walking at the beach and eating dinner along the coast line of Alona beach.

We ate dinner at the beach side and there are lights everywhere. It’s a stretch of almost a kilometer and almost a hundred restaurant to choose from. Fresh sea foods and barbecues are the most common choices and food is great but the service is just okay maybe because we are not foreigners.

The pictures below says it all. Most of the night pics are in manual mode between 4 seconds to 8 seconds to capture the beauty of the place.

On our 2nd day we headed for Hinagdanan cave, a famous underground cave in Bohol then we passed by Blood Compact Site where the “Sandugo” took place in 1565; a blood compact between Miguel Lopez de Legazpi of Spain and Rajah Sikatuna of Bohol. The blood compact is considered as the First Treaty of Friendship between two different races, religions, culture and civilization. Baclayon Church was the next stop over. It’s one of the oldest stone church in the Philippines. Check the pictures below.

We dropped by at one place where we can see Tarsiers up close and personal. They are cute little creatures and really soft to touch. We had our lunch at Loboc River in a floating restaurant. As the boat takes of, the buffet begins. While having our lunch we enjoyed the lush green landscape slowly sliding along your table. There were children swimming, jumping from the trees, people passing by in small bankas or canoes. Then there are also children signing and dancing in a small hut at the side of the river where tourist can join in or take their pictures. Loay church is just on the opposite side. See the pictures below.

It’s been a long day but I need to get to the mall because the night before I deleted all the pictures from the compact flash card knowing I transferred all the pictures to my laptop but later found out only half of the pictures was transferred. I had to get a compact flash card reader from CDR-King in Island City Mall. To make long story short I recovered all the deleted pictures using R-Linux. We ate dinner again along Alona beach and we hit the pool at Lost Horizon which I will continue on the next part next week.

Hope you enjoy my story and the pictures and please share it by clicking on the buttons below.

Yes I am glad too. That’s why in this day trip I don’t have the Canon 400D DSLR, instead I’m using an old Canon S2 IS digicam. I can’t use the only compact flash card that I have so I can recover the pictures later.

  2. Great pics! I love how the night shots on manual mode turned out. I think I have the exact same picture of that cave mouth.

Yeah too bad I don’t have the DSLR so I can only take crappy pictures inside the cave. Not to mention, there’s no lights when we got there (power failure) so I had to use my mobile phone to light up the way inside.
