Hold on to your seat guys, because in less than 24 hours from now, Floyd Mayweather Jr aka Pretty Boy Floyd will face Juan Manuel Marquez aka Dinamita in a catch weight of 144 lbs.
Mayweather is naturally the bigger guy at 5’8″ and averaging 147 lbs in his last 5 fights while the smaller Marquez at 5′ 7″ averages only 131 lbs for his last 5 fights. So the question is, will Marquez body adapt well to sudden increase in weight during the fight? Will he retain his speed? Stamina is also a factor because now he carries 7 to 10 lbs more compared with his previous fights
On the other hand, Floyd Jr. never fought in almost 2 years so maybe he will show some rustiness in the first few rounds and Juan Manuel needs to capitalize on that.
Both fighters are counter punchers so it’s a battle of who punch first and who countered better. I just hope they don’t give us a chess match with both fighters waiting for the other one to punch first. Floyd Mayweather Jr hardly gets hit on his fights because he defends well and his style isn’t toe to toe boxing. This is also the reason why most of his fights aren’t that exciting. In contrast, Juan Manuel Marquez counter punching style is different. He counters with a barrage of punches and that might just overwhelm Pretty boy Floyd.
There’s a little controversy in tonight’s weigh in because it is known that the fight is at a catch weight of 144 lbs. Marquez weighed at 142 lbs, 2 lbs lighter but Mayweather goes 2 lbs more at 146 lbs. Based on insde sources, Mayweather with guaranteed price money of $10 million will lose $300,000 for every pound he goes over board and that means the 2 lbs is worth $600,000.
I’m not a fan of either fighter but I must admit they are both great boxers. I want Marquez to win but I think Floyd will prevail and the fight will go the distance. Mayweather is just too big for Marquez to handle. At the moment, Floyd is 4 lbs heavier than Marquez but comes fight night it might balloon to 10 lbs. Please remember, Marquez fights at 130 – 135 lbs so he might not gain much more than his 144 lbs but Mayweather will at least gain 10 more pounds.

The fight goes the distance. And ir would be boring. Mayweather will be much much bigger and he only proved this by not weighing again before the fight. Marquez will be slower and his punches would be softer.

I wish I would have seen this before the fight, all though I still haven’t seen the fight I realized that there’s no chance I am paying $60 for a snoozer featuring two guys fighting each other that probably shouldn’t even be fighting each other.
I want to see Manny destroy Mayweather, the heck with the silly hand picked fights that Mayweather knows he has a huge advantage in.

Yeah it was all hype. It was a no match from the beginning. I wanna see how Mayweather fight with the like of Pacman thats not a boxer but a fighter. Same thing I can say with Mosley, I wanna see him fight Mosley. Right now I can compare Mayweather with Fedor, who always cherry pick their opponents.
