Well if it’s really true that Floyd Mayweather is retiring again before fighting Manny Pacquiao then he just cemented his legacy to be the biggest ducking king in history of boxing. An interview with the Make a Wish Foundation is going around on the internet where Floyd said many times that he is taking a couple of years off from boxing. He was asked if he’s going to fight in 2010 and he said definitely not. This video was recorded on June 02, 2010 and it’s been in the news that a new negotiation is ongoing about the Pacquiao – Mayweather fight in November.
Why is Mayweather saying he is taking 2 years off? He looked dead serious but knowing Floyd, he might just like stirring up a controversy so he will be in the news. Or maybe he’s really afraid of Manny Pacquiao. Well he want to maintain the 0 loss record and there’s a good chance it will turn to 1 if he’s going to fight Pacquia.

So what do you think? Is he really retiring? Or he’s just clamoring for attention? Remember he announced he’s coming out of retirement the day when Manny fight Hatton last year. Manny is in the US this week to accept the Fighter of the Year and Fighter of the Decade award. Maybe he’s just jealous and needed some media attention?

He has to retire sometime. I think it’s for real. However, a comeback in 2 years at his age is not a good idea.

That’s what I’m thinking. Maybe he’s just saying this so he will be offered more money. But it can backfire too. If he really retires and not fight Pacquiao then he will be remembered as the biggest chicken in history of boxing.

He’s only just come out of retirement! It’s obviously either a publicity stunt, or if not, he’ll come back when he needs more dough (within 2 yrs?). Would be good a good fight to see though, Mayweather vs. Pacquaio.

He retired in ’08 ‘coz he doesn’t want to fight Cotto (or Margarito). Now he’s retiring again ‘coz his ploy to duck Pacman failed. Pacman agreed to his terms about all the RBT. Pacman even said they can take all the blood they want right AFTER the fight. Hell, they can take the blood in the ring, while the other doctors take a look at “the pussy” as he lays on the canvass, unconscious.

It’s sad as a fans that he won’t fight Pacquiao, we all want to see the fight for sure, but if we were in Mayweather’s shoes… he’s doing the right thing… he’s got the life… he’s got everything made. Perhaps the only way he will fight Pacquiao, will be if he really needs the money is my thinking.

Mayweather and his camp has decided a long time ago that they will not let this fight happen. The reason is plain and simple. There is no way Mayweather can beat Pacquiao. And they know.Pacquiao will knockout Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather is a rich and undefeated boxer. Now if he lose he still will be rich but with a lost and he couldn’t be as arrogant as he is most of the time. Losing that fight will finally convince a lot of people he is not a good as a fighter as he has led so many people to believe. Ask yourself this, what would you do if you were Mayweather?
