Earth Hour 2010

It all started in 2007 when Sydney decided to do something about Global warming.Earth hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. In 2008 it became a Global event where about 50 million individuals around the world participated in this global event.

In 2009 hundreds of millions of people around the world showed their support by turning off their lights for one hour.

Earth Hour 2010 will continue to be a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand up, to show leadership and be responsible for our future.

Pledge your support here and turn off your lights for one hour, Earth Hour, 8.30pm, Saturday 27th March 2010.

It’s Showtime! Show what can be done.

Earth Hour 2010 is reportedly on track to become the largest Earth Hour yet, aiming to garner more than the one billion participant goal of 2009′s Earth Hour. Let’s do our share and be included in this global event.

Yes, i will join the event. In my opinion, this action cannot give any help to reduce the effect of global warming. Yet, it plays a role to increase the awareness to the world about this issue. We really need to look after our earth now.

  2. I will join the event, as well. KS Chen is right, though, about this not having a real effect. It’s more of a symbolism.

  3. its very very important one. i have giving awarness of global warming, you have done a good job.

  4. No wonder sustainability is a good mean of making money today. As long as people need to be sustainable, there will be people who know how to make money on it

  5. Michelle from Las Vegas homes says:

The most important point is what happens after that one hour passes? I mean do we essentially learn any lesson from it and try to save energy every day ? Some may think of saving it just because that’ll cost them less on electricity bills but we should make it a habit daily to try and safe energy as much as possible and we shouldn’t be wasting it.
