Blog Stats

It’s time again for another monthly stats post of my blog. Last month’s statistics pretty much stays the same albeit improved a little bit over the previous month. I decided to do this monthly so bloggers could see how’s my blog doing and they could also do a comparison with their blogs. It’s been a little more than 4 months since I’ve started this blog and I’m much thankful this blog is still here and getting readers and visitors.

I didn’t expect to get this kind of traffic initially and honestly blogging is serious work if you want your blog to stay in radar. I think my blog underperformed this month as I expected because I didn’t do what I need to do to keep the flow of visitors to my blog. December is pretty much a busy month so I had to attend to other important things aside from family and work. Nevertheless I am happy traffic still improved a bit over the previous month.

I am also glad that my article about Alexa Ranking Tips stays on the first page of Google Results for the same keywords Alexa Ranking Tips and currently at 3rd position.

PageRank stays the same with PR3 for the home page but I gained PR1 over my articles about Crop Circles, Typhoon Ondoy, and Sunday Babe Miranda Kerr. Alexa on the other hand been hovering over the 160k and 150k mark for whole time. So I guess my current traffic is already peaking and unless I get more visitors my Alexa rank will stay at that level.

Traffic Source

Traffic Source

Traffic source

Majority of my traffic comes from referring sites which means people are linking to my blog and I’m doing a good job in link building. I want to lower the percentage of my direct traffic though and improve my search engine results more. I am not sure about the “other” in Google Analytics as I didn’t see this last month.

BlogEngage, ExtremeJohn and Kikolani are my top blog referrals. I am thankful to them as they give traffic going to my blog.  This again proved that commenting and interacting with fellow bloggers will get you link and added visitors.

StumbleUpon and Reddit surprises me as I don’t expect these much traffic from these sites especially being the top 3 and top 4 source of traffic. I guess social media really works. Also now I see the importance of putting alt in your images because it will help in showing your images in Google results too.

Things I’ve noticed that helps lower my blog traffic are:

1. Blog commenting – If I don’t do much blog commenting to other blogs, my own blog traffic lessened.

2. Consistent posting – Once again, I proved that if I don’t post articles consistently then my traffic suffers.

3. Social media – This includes bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon,Twitter and Facebook. Less time spent sharing my articles here equals to less traffic too.

My blog design is pretty boring at the moment so I guess I need to improve it to attract repeat visitors too. So far those are the things I learned this past month and I hope I don’t get tired of blogging because sometimes you will run out of ideas especially if writing isn’t your cup of tea.

Here are the rest of the screenshots of my blog stat.

1 month stat Alexa Traffic PageRank

As you can see, I get a lot of new visits and pretty decent page views and unique visitors. Alexa traffic still improving but not so much as last month. PageRank stays the same at PR3.

I am hoping this month stats will still be better than this one. Thank you for reading and visiting and please leave your comments about my blog.

It’s amazing hoq quickly your traffic gets effected when you comment less on other blogs isn’t it? My traffic has taken a dump, but I took off two weeks and slacked now I’m back at it.

Correct, that’s why blog commenting is really a major part in marketing your blog. I mean unless you are John Chow or Darren Rowse then you still need to comment to other blogs to keep traffic flowing.

Good luck on getting more traffic. And I do agree that commenting on other blogs does help to bring some traffic. Hehe… I am getting 3k daily visitors lately due to that. :)

You are right about the factors that lowers traffic. I have experience them myself. There are times when I don’t comment on other blog on a regular basis, and my traffic lower. Same is true with the posting. :-)
